Welcome to the Planning Decision Support System. This Web-based planning and decision process structuring program has been designed to improve anticipatory and reflective organization decision making. For example, PDSS efficiently and effectively involves multiple stakeholders in contingency course of action (COA) planning decisions, policy decisions, goal setting and complex strategic selection decisions. This Planning Decision Support System (PDSS) is a prototype built using open source web tools. PDSS is an example of a general purpose, decision process management application. This website, PlanningDSS.com, is still under development, so your suggestions and feedback are most welcome. Also, we are trying to identify "alpha" testing opportunities. We will host your use of the system. Also, we can customize a version of Planning DSS to integrate with a specific strategic decision process in an organization. Reflective decision making involves analytical thought, contemplation, examination and critical meditation and is contrasted with action decision making. Reflective decision making is not highly time contrained, rather decision makers are anticipating the need for a decision. Planning is "anticipatory decision-making". Plans are preliminary decisions that may be adjusted and changed by circumstances before an action is actually executed. A need for action termed a contingency is anticipated and various courses of action are then evaluated prior to the time when a final commitment to act must be made. For more information visit PlanningSkills.com. In order to use PlanningDSS.com, you need a username and password. Users are assigned roles in the planning and decision making process, e.g., planner, analyst, brainstormer, decision maker or observer. Check the Help pulldown menu for more information. Thank you. |
